C43 AMG EstateMercedes-Benz's answer to the E36 M3. At first Mercedes-Benz offered the W202 C36 AMG, powered by a 3,6 liter inline six. When BMW offered the 3,2 liter 321 facelifted M3, Mercedes-Benz took it a step further. The resultant C 43 AMG was thus available as both a four-door Saloon (W202) and a five-door Estate (S202). The C 43 became the first AMG product to be assembled at Mercedes-Benz. Although the engines themselves were still prepared in Affalterbach, the rest of the assembly process took place in-house at Bremen.

Unlike the standard 4.3-litre V8 built in Unterturkheim, the AMG versions assembled in Affalterbach came with an array of upgrades to increase output, particularly at higher engine speeds. These included stiffer valve springs, modular instead of cast camshafts with modified timing (to provide additional overlap), a shaved and polished crankshaft, a higher pressure oil pump, oil jets to cool the bottoms of the pistons, bigger fuel injectors, a new free-flow twin-tube air-cleaner and a ported magnesium intake manifold. The ECU was also re-mapped. The net result was an additional 27bhp and 7lb-ft with 302bhp at 5850rpm and 302lb-ft at 3250rpm.

In addition to its new V8 engine, stopping capability was improved thanks to the installation of a brake system imported from the recently introduced W210 E 55 AMG. Mercedes-Benz AMG has built just 3857 C43 AMGs and of those only 772 were sold as Esate.

This very car was sold new in in Nordfriesland, Germany and ordered in 197 Obsidian black metallic over 581 AMG Exclusive Graphite (black) leather. Furthermore: Parktronic, electrically adjustable front seats, no badges, electric sliding sunroof, automatic climate control, MB Audio 10 radio and heated seats.

The condition is excellent. Beautiful paint, mostly factory original, perfectly straight. This example shows no rust; The jack points, rear axle mounts, floors, doors, etc are all solid in this solid on this C43. The interior remains in nice, supple original and as-new condition. The trunk is very clean, all carpets nice and present. The sparewheel is still factory new and never used.

The engine-bay of the car is very original. The M113 runs quiet and pulls great. The 5-speed automatic shifts flawless. In recent years it received new front and rear brake rotors and pads, new front control arms and a new steering damper. This car was really looked after. We have recently installed a new set of Pirelli P7 Cinturato tyres and will be performing a service upon delivery including oil, filters, sparkplugs and A/C service so it's ready to go.
